Vancouver singer and actor Jessie Wheeler was once a teen runaway.

She is a broken soul who, despite her fame, still considers herself one of society's throwaways yet who, despite all, still believes in forgiveness and hope.

The darkness of Jessie’s teen years is echoed in poignant music and lyrics. Life becomes meaningful again when her playboy boyfriend Charlie kicks an estranged friend, actor Josh Sawyer, out of his club. Josh is lost in a bottomless downward spiral, but Jessie sees something of herself reflected in his sorrowful brown eyes – a deep loneliness and angst. She tells Josh there is always hope.

Jessie takes a part on Josh’s new TV series Drifters, which opens her heart to true love. But she is backed into a corner by an old nemesis, Deuce McCall, who has past crimes to lay at her feet as fuel. An old hat at acting, Jessie relies on a tougher version of herself while she seeks to free herself from Deuce's clutches.

She must risk everything in order to save the one thing she loves the most – Josh.

Feature Review

“This series just hit my favorite series of the year list. This book was brilliantly written and had me in tears and in knots so many times thru-out that I cannot even count the moments. The characters are all well developed and richly charismatic. Many of the circumstances are emotionally raw and beautiful at the same time.

I cannot recommend this series more highly. It is a beautiful emotional ride of friendship, love, loss, redemption and the most important thing...HOPE.

Miss Rodgers...keep writing stories like this and I will be a forever fan!”

Musical Inspiration

I've always loved music. As a University student I had my own radio show (on the campus station at St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia, Canada) and I dj'd at clubs as well. When I started writing the Drifters books I knew that Jessie's songs were special, that they were more than just ballads and upbeat pop tunes. To me, her songs have deep messages and many layers. I’ve put together a playlist of the music that inspired the songs in each book.
